Construction consumes material, moves earth and disturbs water. The honest response is to reduce what can be reduced, control what cannot, and publish only figures that have been verified.

Our position

No environmental claim without a number behind it.

We publish measured figures only. Where a target or a number is not yet supported by verified data, this page says so rather than estimating.

Most of what improves environmental performance on a construction site is unglamorous: a sediment trap installed before excavation starts, a formwork system that survives forty uses instead of eight, platform levels set so that no fill has to be imported.

These decisions are made at design and method-statement stage. By the time a project is on site, most of its environmental footprint has already been fixed.

    Resource efficiency

    Material planning that reduces waste before it is created — accurate take-off, balanced earthworks, high-reuse formwork systems and reclaimed material where testing permits.

Social impact

The people the project affects.

Communities live alongside construction for months or years. What they experience during that period is part of the project's outcome, not a side effect of it.

    Site labour recruited from project districts wherever the skill requirement can be met or trained, with written terms and paid overtime.

  • Skills development

    On-site training for gabion, masonry, steel fixing, finishing and plant operation, giving transferable certification where available.

  • Community engagement

    Notification before disruptive works, a named liaison point during working hours, and a documented grievance process with response commitments.

  • Access and reinstatement

    Community access routes, water sources and agricultural land reinstated at demobilisation, recorded and signed off with local representatives.

Climate resilience

Designing for the rainfall we now get.

A large share of the rehabilitation work we are asked to carry out is drainage that was sized against historic rainfall data. Where the client's design permits, we recalculate cross-drainage capacity against updated records before reconstruction — because rebuilding the same pavement over the same undersized culvert guarantees the same failure.
