Engineering & Design Coordination

Design review, temporary works, constructability and integrated programme, cost and interface control.

Overview

Most construction risk is created at the drawing board and paid for on site. Our engineering team reviews design intent against build sequence, plant access, tolerance and safety before work is priced — and issues written constructability comments the client can act on.

Where we hold the EPC or management contract, the same team carries the design coordination register, temporary works approvals and the technical submission programme through to as-built handover.

Capabilities

  • Design review and constructability assessment
  • Temporary works design and independent checking
  • Structural and geotechnical coordination
  • BIM coordination and clash detection
  • Technical submissions and approval tracking
  • Value engineering with lifecycle cost comparison
  • As-built documentation and O&M compilation

Typical project types

  • EPC and design-build contracts
  • Client-side technical review assignments
  • Constructability studies at tender stage
  • Temporary works design for complex structures
  • Interface management on multi-contractor sites
Delivery process

How the work is sequenced.

Every stage has a defined output and a named owner. Nothing moves to the next stage on assumption.

  1. 01

    Brief and basis of design

Scope, standards, tolerances and acceptance criteria written down and agreed before design development.

  2. 02

    Design coordination

Discipline drawings reconciled, clashes closed and a live comment register maintained with dated responses.

  3. 03

    Constructability and method

Build sequence, plant access, temporary works and safety-in-design reviewed against the proposed method.

  4. 04

    Delivery control

Baseline programme, earned-value reporting, change control and a live risk register reviewed on a fixed cycle.

  5. 05

    Close-out

Testing records, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties and a structured defect liability process.
